Scent is the most evocative of all of the senses, so it only seems right that when we want to create a certain mood or atmosphere in the home, scent is a very effective way to do that. Scent is one of the many tactics Ikea uses to make you feel comfortable in their stores as you wind your way through the staged living spaces. 

So, with the Wild Venus home fragrances, you can easily transform your home with our hand poured soy wax candles and handmade wax melts. Each of our vegan friendly candles and melts is crafted in small batches to bring the warmth, comfort and long-lasting fragrance to every room. Whether you’re creating a cosy corner, uplifting your space, aiming for the Ikea effect or gifting someone special, our collection offers scents to suit every mood.

Why Soy Wax?

We use 100% natural soy wax for all our candles and melts.

When I started using soy wax for Wild Venus in 2020, it was because I found a local producer in Lancashire which helps reduce our carbon footprint. After lots of research and testing, I found that Soy Wax was a perfect material as it burns cleanly and holds fragrance beautifully. The wax melts I produce are really long lasting, and the soy wax candles we make in small batches are perfect.  Plant-based and sustainable, it’s an eco-conscious choice I made years ago and if it ain’t broke then I ain’t fixing it. 

Our Candles

Our soy wax candles are hand poured with care, creating a soft, inviting glow. Each scent is carefully blended to transform your space, from floral and fresh to warm and earthy.

Each glass is cleaned by hand and then a glue dot is placed at the bottom and a wick firmly pressed in. Once all the wicks are in place, I can begin melting the wax and weighing my ingredients out. 

Using a ‘presto pot’, I melt soy wax and then once this has reached the correct temperature, I measure this out and then add the desired vegan fragrance. Stirring slowly for several minutes until the fragrance has fully bonded with the wax. Once the soy wax and fragrances have been properly blended, I check the temperature - it can’t be too hot and it can’t be too cold! During the winter, I often have to heat the glass vessels on a heating pad, otherwise the wax can be shocked by the temperature of the cold glass and can lead to lots of problems.

Our soy wax melts are a flame-free and economical way to enjoy fragrance.

Designed for strong scent throw and long-lasting enjoyment, these handmade wax melts are perfect for layering, experimenting or gifting. Because there’s no wick, glass or flame to worry about, the development process for testing new wax melt fragrances is a lot simpler and this means I’m able to bring out new surprise and limited edition scents from time to time. I aim to develop 2 special soy wax melt collections each year.
