Pixiecraft: Nature Inspired and Functional Art for the Every Day
Meet Katy!
Katy has been running her handmade brand Pixiecraft for over 13 years now and her products and style has changed, adapted and grown alongside her life as a busy mum.
Although Katy began Pixiecraft as an embroidery business, making hand sewn goods and embroidered pocket hearts, she eventually moved on to become an illustration-led creative brand. This decision has offered her wrists a well needed break from the repetitive and taxing nature of embroidery.
Nowadays Pixiecraft creates artwork and thoughtfully designed products inspired by nature, animals and everyday creativity with a focus on accessible art and practical items that bring colour and interest into daily life.
The core of the Pixiecraft range is its illustrated artwork which is available in a variety of forms which makes her art work accessible and affordable to many. At Wild Venus we stock an enormous range of Katy’s bookmarks which are all hand printed, cut and laminated with a holographic sheen and come with a colourful tassel. You can also find the Pixiecraft style in prints up to A4 which feature lots of inspiration from the natural world.
As well as prints and bookmarks, Pixiecraft also produces a variety of wonderful hand drawn colouring books and activity-based products such as our popular Garden Bugs Activity cards or the Winter Exploration Activity Cards. These are a great way to help introduce children into the garden and spark curious play and mindfulness. However, these aren’t just for kids!
Katy has illustrated lots of colouring books which are just as popular for adults as they are for children! Each book has a range of illustrations so you can decide on the complexity of the piece you want to engage in.
Our Wild Venus range of Pixiecraft products also includes small accessories such as badges. These button badges have the same illustrated style and themes found in the prints and are designed to be durable and practical, providing a simple way to add a fun pop of colour and personality to bags and jackets.. We’ve found these to be really popular gift items in the shop as they’re an affordable piece of wearable art with a quirky or cute message for the wearer.
