New Makers Joining Us this Autumn

Meet some new makers from all around the UK bringing new exciting products to our Burnley gift shop.
Wolf Moon Arts has proved to be a hit since arriving in Burnley in September. Here's a bit more about the person behind the art...
Nikki creates timeless watercolour illustrations inspired by British flora and fauna, folklore and mythology with a heavy dose of imagination thrown in for good measure. All original artwork is created using traditional watercolour techniques, which are then used to make high quality prints, cards, tea towels, pin badges and more.
NIkki has always been inspired by magic and nature. Growing up with books by the amazing Brian Froud planted a firm passion for faeries and otherworldly creatures.
Originally from rural Cheshire, Nikki now resides on the diverse and beautiful Wirral Peninsula. This has directed creativity to the land, sea, and night sky.
The moon is a very strong influence in Nikki's work, inspiring her business name. She creates popular annual illustrated moon calendars, and the moon features in the majority of illustrations, depicted in all her wonderful phases. Nikki also works as a freelance illustrator and will have work published in the 2026 Moon Phase Studios 13 Moon Journal. Joining the Wild Venus shop in September, is Scarlett Woodwife Illustrations. And in Scarlett's own words she says:
Greetings! I'm an artist inspired by forests, folklore, women, animals, nature, magic and motherhood.
I live near Glastonbury in Somerset and strongly resonate with the wheel of the year and seasonal changes, enjoying the tenderness of the natural world and embracing imagination and fairytales, feeling completely at home in the woods.
My mother is a painter, a brilliant one and thanks to her influence, from a very young age I've loved art in various forms and have always tried to channel buy creativity into all aspects of my life.
However, it's only been in the last few years that I've fully committed to putting the ideas in my head into the world and making a small business of it.
While I have college qualifications, I am largely self taught. At the moment I paint digitally on my tablet, mainly for ease as I have three very young children and a tiny Victorian house. The freedom of being able to pick up my tablet and put it down quickly without mess is very useful with tiny hands nearby! However, when time allows and I get the opportunity to paint traditionally, then I love to paint using watercolours and acrylics.
You can check out my full range of work on my website at Scarlett Woodwife, and you can find my Facebook and Instagram profiles too.
