Jelly Mode - A crash course in Creative Silliness

Jelly Mode celebrates the little joys which make the world a happier place!

Jane created Jelly Mode to utilise her love of colour and textiles.

Everything is handmade in her workshop in Norfolk and then sent out in to the world with a dash of silliness and a sprinkle of happy thoughts.

An obsession with yarns and vintage fabrics means lots of products which you can wear, or use to accentuate your style. Handy purses and pouches, warm hats and scarves, fun cardigans and jewellery - everything is designed with joy in mind.

Jane studied fine art in Norwich and brings her love of experimentation and different mediums to her little biz. Through the year you can expect to see anything from lino prints to pocket hugs as special drops.

Jane is AuDHD and likes to make sure her makes are as unique as she is. You will rarely see the same colours patterns used twice as celebrating individual style is really important. This means a lot of time is spent sewing and crocheting as all fabrics and yarns are carefully sourced and everything is made by hand with love and care to bring you a special one-off piece of happiness. But wait... there's more.... Jane is a collector of precious things and has lots of lovely collections: Clowns, Snails & Slugs, Vintage Dresses, Film Memorabilia, Trinkets, Cats, Plants. In fact there's more than we have time to list.

Surrounding herself with cute and daft things is really important to Jane and this is reflected in her work which is often whimsical and utilises her love of 60s and 70s fashion, style and vibes. When you buy a Jelly Mode accessory you take a step into the Jelly World, we hope you love it here!

A chat with Jane: Why did you create Jelly Mode?

I just LOVE making things. I never sit still, there's always something to be done or something new to learn. Starting the Jelly Mode brand meant I can share this love of making and buy LOTS of yarns and fabrics.

Jelly Mode's Biggest Success?

The fact I'm still going. I can be a bit over-enthusiastic and then lose momentum once I've done the big thing (classic ADHD) but this is something I love so much I don't think I could stop.

Biggest Weakness?

Seeing pretty much any craft and thinking "yeah, I'd be great at that". I don't think there's much I haven't tried, although I do have to admit some are harder that I thought.

What does the future hold?

Over the last few years I've decided it's time to stop just buying fabrics and actually make things with them. I've been making friends with my sewing machine and have mastered making zippy purses and pouches.

This year I want to work on bigger projects: making bags (totes, knot bags, drawstring) and maybe even branch out to tops. I'm determined to be making stockings from my beautiful collection of vintage fabrics for Christmas 2026.

Outside of Jelly Mode:

I moved from Manchester to Norwich in 2024 and am now a full time carer for my wonderful Mum who has Alzheimer's. I'm also a carer for my Dad and work part time as a complaints handler. I live with my parents and my other half (Mike) and my beautiful cat Beryl. When I get the chance I love having a mooch around the charity shops (looking for treasure) doing markets, seeing bands/shows and working in the garden. I'd love to expand my workroom so I can be better organised (it'll never happen) and branch out to things like ceramics and painting.
